Filed under “How the hell does anybody find this stuff out”, NPR’s All Songs Considered has reported that Great White Sharks love AC/DC songs. According to the article, a charter boat operator in South Australia played “Back in Black” underwater while watching the sharks. The boat operator said that the sharks became less aggressive. “We know the AC/DC music works best by trial and error, and we are doing more research to see what works best with different species of shark,” he says. Sharks don’t have ears so the theory is that the particular vibrations from the song seem to please the animal.
It just makes sense that sharks would like AC/DC. With songs like “If you want blood” and “Shook me all night long”, AC/DC’s music seems a perfect fit for the “disaffected ” fish.
Read the whole story over at All Songs Considered then close your eyes and imagine being eaten by a 15 foot Great White Shark with Angus Horns . That’s the way my father went…and that’s the way I want to go…
